Kulvinder Johal “Mundeh Panjabi/Sun Baliyeh” Video
The Kulvinder Johal album released a couple of weeks ago, and here gos the second video featuring the songs “Mundeh Panjabi” and “Sun Baliyeh.”
I’m doing some serious head bouncing to “Sun Baliyeh.”
Kulvinder Johal “Mundeh Panjabi” Press Release
Having broken records with the smash hit single ‘Johal Boliyan’; Vip Records are proud to present the debut album by folk vocalist Kulvinder Singh Johal titled ‘Mundeh Panjabi’.
The 10 track album has been produced by Kaos Productions & also features three singles by Tru Skool; the producer behind ‘Johal Boliyan’ which spent an incredible seven weeks at the top of the BBC Asian Network digital download chart.
With ‘Johal Boliyan’ already a firm fixture for dance floors across the UK, ‘Mundeh Panjabi’ promises to deliver further anthems, only adding to the already long list of hit songs by Kulvinder Singh Johal.
The single ‘Sun Baliyeh’ was given its exclusive first play on the distinguished Nihal show on BBC Radio 1, with ‘Mundeh Panjabi’ being premiered by Bobby Friction on the BBC Asian Network.
The album will be supported by another high quality video medley for the tracks ‘Mundeh Panjabi’ and ‘Sun Baliyeh’ which will be airing shortly.
With Johal Boliyan still riding high in the charts, ‘Mundeh Punjabi’ is set to become the essential sound track for the summer.
The 10 track album is out in all Asian music shops and iTunes on the 8th of July 2010.

Jaskurn Gosal Releases “Haan Baliye”
The first Bhangra release from an Australian is an impressive chilled out track. In fact, it’s the first track that’s got me in the mood for the upcoming summer bhangra releases.
Jaskurn Gosal, who produced Bakshi Billa’s “Nachne Da Mazza” last year is set to release his debut solo effort.
His first track “Haan Baliye,” with vocals provided by A.S. Amar, elicits a summer vibe (even though it’s winter down under.)

Twin Beats “Nain Nashiley” Remix Released
Bill Simmons was right, “it’s great to be back in the mid-’80s again.”
After hitting you with the ultra smooth “Dil Vich Tareya” Remix, Twin Beats are at it again with their second of three “alternative” remixes they will be releasing from reworked songs off “The Sounds of Punjab.”
The Twins describe this remix as an ‘electro/disco house mix.’ Catch a sample below, and tell me those synths aren’t making you reach for a white suit and t-shirt.
The song is now available for download from iTunes.
P.S. That Cassette graphic is “Totally Rad!”

Kulvinder Johal – “Johal Boliyan” Video
Now this is the business!
There isn’t much I can say to convince you to buy this song, other than to point you in the direction of the video.

Kulvinder Johal, who has been around since the early 80’s, is set for a monster solo album with the aide of Tru-Skool on production.
Granted it’s a remake of a Mohammed Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur track, I think this updated track is fresh for the times. Tru-Skool shows off his flair (and his best PMC impression to date) with the use of some solid sampling of James Brown.
The song debuted at number 1 on the Official Asian Download Chart. (That’s now 2 Bhangra tracks at number 1 in consecutive weeks (PBN last week))
This song is on continuous repeat for me.

Kaos Productions “Long Dha Lishkara” Video
Now here’s a song I haven’t heard in a little while. But a song I fondly remember (back during a time when I watched Movies.)
VIP Records, recently released “Pure Desi Vol. 3″ and on it, Kaos Productions has added a house flavour to this oldie.

Gtown Desi Release “1134″
Looks like we have our first substantial release of 2010, with the release of Gtown Desi’s “1134.”
The album quietly went on sale yesterday on the VIP Records website, and I’m sure it will soon reach iTunes.
For now, have a listen to promos of seven of the thirteen tracks that will be on the album.
Tor Vehka (Remix) – Jaswant Heera
Type of Guy – Nikitta
Sharaab – Poonam & Ramesh
Naal Nachna (Remix) – Jasa J
Lok Tath – Jaswant Heera
Why You Lie – Charlene
Tor Vehka – Jaswant Heera
Lok Tath is by far my favourite tune. I thought Drum n Bass had been long dead in the Bhangra genre, but with this track, it’s back in a big way.
The PR release for the album had stated that the album had been in the works for 5 years, and after listening to Tor Vehka, I realised, that it had already been released in 2005 on Pure Desi Vol. 1.
With the release of the album, came the release of the video. Take a look at the video premiere of “Peerh.”

Twin Beats “Dil Vich Tareya” Remix
Twin Beats, who in my opinion had one of the best albums last year, has reworked one of its tracks, and given it a smoother refix. Check out “Dil Vich Tareya” remix.

Jade “Dil Luteya & Duppata” Video
This isn’t exactly my cup of tea, but I put up the video featuring my man Sardara S. Gill – in the second half of the video – just so you can see some dueling mullets in action.
Video opens up in new window.
