Bhangra at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics
If you’re in the Vancouver area around the 2010 Olympics, and need a Bhangra fix, look out for En Karma, Tigerstyle, Shin (DCS), the UBC Girlz Bhangra Team, and Harbhajan Mann to be all performing at various venues.
Saturday February 13, 2010 – Celebration Site – Surrey 2010 (Free Admission)

KS Makhan – 10PM
Sunday February 14, 2010 – BC Victory Ceremony (On TV)
The UBC Girlz Bhangra team will open for Nelly Furtado before the medal presentations.
Wednesday February 24, 2010 – The O Zone (Free Admission)
Tigerstyle – 8PM – 8:45PM
En Karma – 10:15PM – 11PM
Saturday February 27, 2010 – Quantum Bhangra – Queen Elizabeth Theatre (Tickets start at $38)

Vancouver International Bhangra Competition
Oh boy! It’s Bhangra competition season, and one of the biggest in North America is VIBC.
In it’s fifth year, the competition is bringing in some entertaining options on the Canadian and UK Bhangra music front.
Starting on February 12, the City of Bhangra Festival will lead up to the competition.
February 20th and the 21st will see downtown Vancouver enjoying a street festival with performances by past winners of VIBC, as well as performances by En Karma and Delhi2Dublin
The eight teams vying for the $5,000 grand prize, will highlight the climax of this event on the evening of February 21.
Also performing that night will be Old School UK Bhangra legends Apna Sangeet, Heera and H-Dhami.
