Old School Sunday – PBN “Vekh Jandi Dolhi”
This week’s Old School Sunday is one of my favourite Bhangarage tracks. I also feel as if it is a continuation of the Bally Jagpal/Amar Arshi/Shazia Manzoor track I posted two weeks ago.
Released on Panjabi By Nature’s debut album “Second 2 None,” I feel it was the only song worth listening to. However, since Second 2 None, PBN has redeemed himself with some quality tracks.
Featuring the vocals of Amar Arshi, and Singh MC – I’ll give this guy some credit, because he wasn’t half bad either – the album was released during the year 2000.
Are we taking for granted that PBN has been around for almost 10 years?
Panjabi By Nature – “Sohni Lagdi” Video
First Pal D, now Panjabi By Nature is doing his best Sukshinder Shinda impersonation.
In his singing debut, PBN releases his third video off the “Homegrown” album with the aide of Apache Indian.
Personally, I think the lyrics are pedestrian, and if push comes to shove, I don’t think he could offer much vocal range.
What do you think? Should he stick to producing, or is it a decent start for the lad?
Panjabi By Nature “Dancefloor” Video
Panjabi By Nature’s second video features the vocals of Dippa “Satrang” Dosanjh.
The video is one big “Soul Train Line” of women. PBN…Lucky guy.
“Homegrown” is out now.
Panjabi By Nature/Miss Pooja “Aashiq” Video
Ladies and Gents. We are in the midst of the rising of Miss Pooja in the UK Bhangra scene. It’s her first solo track, and it’s featured on Panjabi By Nature’s album “Homegrown.”
It’s a sick track, and I must say we have two killer dance floor tracks ready for partying to (JK being the other.)
It’s good to see Miss Pooja do her thing in the UK, I was never feeling the whole “Petrol” type of tracks, well OK, I was feeling “Desi Jatt.” However, I put the over/under on her being rinsed in the UK by mid 2010 a la Amar Arshi, Kaka and Lehmber.
PBN has stated that the album is made for the dance floors with a heavy emphasis on live instrument usage. I have a lot of faith in the dude going by the man’s past work. Also, having Johnny Kalsi (Founder of TDF) featured in the video is a good start.
The album, set to be released in February, will also feature Lehmber, Dippa Dosanjh, KS Bhamrah and more.
What do you think?
