Old School Sunday – RDB “Balle Balle/Muqabula”
The last couple of Old School Sundays have been tracks from the nineties and eighties, so I thought I’d bring it back to the 2000′s with an RDB tune.
“Balle Balle” is one of my favourite Bhangarage tracks. Sung by Kuldeep Purewal, it was featured on the album “Sounds of the North” released in 2002. UK Bhangra was going through a creative sampling phase, and RDB were the masters of taking a popular beat, and making it their own in a tasteful way. “Balle Balle” used the Daniel Bedingfield “Gotta Get Thru This” sample. The second song in this video is “Muqabula” sung by Manak-E.
