Old School Sunday – Jas Virdee “Rifle”
Here’s a rare video back from 2003. It features Jas Virdees track “Rifle”, from his album “It Has Begun.”
Featuring the vocals of Manak-E, and a heavy Reggae b-line, this was one of a couple Jas Virdee tracks I bumped.
You may also know, Jas Virdee formed one third of Big Poppa Cartel, which also featured Dark MC, and Ricky Singh.
“Door Ni Kulne” in 30 Seconds
Since the dawn of the interwebz, everything has been about instant gratification.
So with that in mind I thought, why should we sit through an entire four minute bhangra video, when you can get the gist of it in under 30 seconds?
And what song would help kick off this segment best, than one of the most successful (over 900,000+ views and counting) videos/songs of late; “Door Ni Kulne”

San Francisco based DJ Rav-E dropped this Bhangra mix in my inbox today.
The 35 minute Miss Pooja and Imran Khan-less (was it deliberate?) mix is something to kick start your summer.

R.I.P. Mani Sangra (1988-2009)
This is just too much.
Mani Sangra, one half of the duo that made up Sangra Vibes passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009.
According to his brother Gopi Sangra, Mani had been in the hospital for three weeks battling against Encephalitis (acute inflammation of the brain.) During his treatment, his blood pressure had dipped too low for his heart to handle.
Sangra Vibes had released one album in 2005 – “Unleashed” – and were set on releasing another some time during this year.
At the time, the album was somewhat of a underrated classic. The following tune featuring Manak-E is a glimpse of the production talent the duo exemplified.
Sangra Vibes – Ranjha Raji
My heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to Mani’s family and friends.
DJ Gurps “Expectations”
DJ turned Producer Gurpreet Mudher, has been in the game for a decade spinning records for top artists in the industry. Now it’s time for him to show us what he can do behind the boards with the release of his debut “Expectations.”
The ten track album, which will release at the end of July on the VIP Records label, features Manak-E, (Late) Kaka Bhaniawala, Labh Janjua, Nirmal Sidhu, Bakshi Billa and more.
(Late) Kaka Bhaniawala – Daru Peeke Nachda
Bakshi Billa – Sarwan Puttar
The first video off the album features the Manak-E track “Ous Kurri”
Frankly, after seeing the video and hearing the promos, my “expectations” have shrank.

Download Baba Kahn, Sunny Brown, Lomaticc “Bombay Bo” and Culture Shock 2 Tour at Circa Niteclub
Baba Kahn, Sunny Brown and Lomaticc are back. After the massively huge track “Tonight” last year, the crew are trying to do things even bigger.
Culture Shock 2 is set for release, and the first single is up for download.
Download here..
It’s not exactly at the same level of “Tonight,” but they’re on the right track, of thinking what the club goers in North America are looking for.
The inclusion of ring tones in the download pack, is a very good idea as well.
Culture Shock 2 Release Party at Circa (Toronto) June 30, 2009
Baba Kahn is also promoting the album in a big way, with a concert happening in one of Toronto’s biggest clubs (Circa,) along with an impressive lineup to boot.
Along with the Culture Shock Crew of Baba Kahn, Sunny Brown and Lomaticc, RDB, Manak-E, as well as H-Dhami will be performing.
To top things off, the video for Bombay Bo will be shot that night at the club.

MC Special “Jaan Kadhde/Goosa” Medley Video
Talk about milking it.
After releasing the album in 2007, MC Special has released his second video for the album “Something Special.”
Personally, I liked the tracks on the first video way more than the ones featured on this medley.
Vocals on the tracks have been provided by Manak-E. The first track has the lets all get drunk and sing the chorus together kinda feel to it. The second track, is just meh.
The video has a cheap feel to it. Whenever you have a club scene and it’s just you and a few other fellas in a booth, that’ll happen.
What do you think? Is this video “something special?”
