Taj-E “Bundook” Video
Before I say anything about this video, I just want to say that Kaka Bhainiawala is a PIMP! Tracksuit tops and all.
Right.
This is Taj-E’s first video off the Sik ‘n’ Twisted album. It’s got a different vibe to the vid that we haven’t seen before in UK Bhangra, but it doesn’t really tell a story, and that could have been something interesting had it been explored. Weird ending.
The highlight of the video, definitely has to be those little kids doing there thing. For you Hip Hop heads, you may have seen that before though right?
I’m liking the track as well. I guess I have this thing for songs with lyrics like “modhe uteh rendiya bundook.”
Sik ‘n’ Twisted is slated to release next month. You can check out the Sik ‘n’ Twisted site for updates on that front.
As you can see by the dedicated website to the album, it will be pushed heavily.

DJ Dips “Gerra De De” Video
The third video off of DJ Dips album “Stand Up Vol. 1″ is out, and it’s the mega collabo of Miss Pooja, Lehmber and Kaka.
A song of this nature deserved the traditional musical treatment, and credit goes to Dips for doing that but, I’m left thinking that it’s still missing something.
The other day I was putting together a list of songs for my friends wedding reception. This track made the short list, but it’s not really a dance track is it? And after watching the video, I soured a bit more on the track. The video just gives off a gloomy feel. Have a look.
Taj E “Sik ‘n’ Twisted” Promo Video
The Sound Pipe Records utilize YouTube to the fullest when promoting their albums.
This promo is a little different compared to the usual fanfare of “coming soon..with so and so and blah blah blah.”
We also get a quick sample of the Kaka track at the end of the promo, titled “Bundook.”
Taj E’s “Sik ‘n’ Twisted” is slated for an April release.
Old School Sunday – Specialist and Tru-Skool “Word is Born Medley” Video
Continuing with the themes of Tru-Skool and Kulvinder Singh Johal posts this past week, this week’s Old School Sunday rewinds it back to late 2004, where we first heard the music created by the Specialist and Tru-Skool collaboration.
The “Word is Born Medley” contains the songs “Sanehvaal Chounk” with vocals provided by Kaka Bhainivaala, as well as the Kuldip Manak cover track “Saibaa Dha Khath,” with vocals provided by Kulvinder Singh Johal.
It’s a low budget video, but you get a glimpse into how serious the duos musical prowess is in the studio. That’s them laying down the instrumentation for the album themselves.
Taj-E “Sik ‘n’ Twisted” Promo Video
Sound Pipe Records artist Taj-E is just about set to release his album “Sik ‘n’ Twisted” in April. From the clip, I see the lineup consists of Juggy D, Kaka (looking rather pimp in Puma) and Nirmal Sidhu.
UPDATE
Taj-E passed along an email, adding to the list of singers with Bee2 as well as Bradley from S Club 7. He also stated that the album is Desi, with a bit of Urban RnB and Hip Hop. Here’s to hoping Rachel Stevens is in one of the videos.
I haven’t been a Taj-E fan, I found his last two albums a little too slow for my liking. However, this album sounds better, and we finally get to see some new material from Juggy D.

DJ Dips feat. Sanj V “Gal Sun” Video
DJ Dips, one half of the “Ominous DJ’s” has gone off and produced his own album.
The first video off the album “Stand Up Volume 1″ is “Gal Sun,” featuring Delhi based vocalist Sanj V. The song has a Rishi Rich/Master Rakesh kind of feel to it, very Bollywoody, but it’s receiving a warm reception on the airwaves in the UK.
Dips describes the album as a buffet for listeners with all types of styles on the album. The album is formed in collaboration with MC Rax along with percussion duties handled by Sunil Kalyan.
Other artists to be featured on the album include; Sharmilla, Sabar Koti, Ashok Gill and Jati Cheed. The tentative release month is February through 4playrecordings.
With a track on the album that everyone expected would happen at some point, Dips has lined up Lehmber, Kaka and Miss Pooja on one song. The track is called “Gerra De De.” Check the preview.
What do you think? Are you feeling the Bollywood vibe of “Gal Sun?” Is the Lehmber, Kaka and Miss Pooja collabo the start of a new trend, or is it the beginning of the end?
Free Dark MC “Haan De Part 2″ Download
Dark MC had a relatively successful release last year with the album “It’s Getting Dark in Here.”
Well, Dark MC wants you to remember that “Haan De” was one of the best tracks on the album. So he’s put together “Haan De Part 2.”
The intro to the song is Kaka, and the vocals are provided by Lembher. You may call it a long promo, but I call it a free download.

DJs Inc. “Nachle Soniye/Na Roko” Video
Aman and Ajay Sahota are the 2 brothers that comprise the duo of DJs Inc. Their debut album is set to release on September 26th titled “A New Age.” The album features the likes of Surinder Shinda, Kaka, Lehmber and more. They also specialize in UK’s own Grime music, and will be including a track in their album.
I’m digging the tunes in their first Punjabi video, which features the two tracks “Nachle Soniye” and “Na Roko.”
Tigerstyle’s “Nachna Revisited”
Every night before I go to bed I say a little prayer. That prayer is usually for the release of the Tigerstyle album and hoping it’s a quality offering. Clearly, the big guy isn’t listening to me because so far I’ve only heard one decent track - The Balle! Shava! Extended Punjabi Vocal Mix.
With the exception of “Balle! Shava!,” Tigerstyle have released work so far that they did a couple years ago (Akh Mastani, Bol Bol Bol, and Maan Doabe Da.) Well, here is another familiar track. “Nachna Revisited” is a reworked version of their classic “Nachna Ondha Nei.” Sure it’s got new vocals, and accompanied by a new MC, but I really hope this is just a buildup to something new and incredible.
MC Special “Medley” Video
The two songs released in this video were my favourite from MC Special’s album “Something Special.”
I’m totally digging the Arabic feel of “Nachna Aunda Nehi.”
The video is a straightforward performance piece. But I’m sure the guys will still find it very pleasing.
