Rav-E “Haan Karde”
After Deejaying and playing Dhol across North America as a member of the Non Stop Bhangra Collective, it’s only natural for Rav-E to slide on over as Producer.
Signed to Tigerstyle’s “Soldier Sounds Recordings” label, Rav-E made a valiant effort in his debut, although the vocalist kind of misses the mark for me. However, I hope this is a start of good things to come from him.
Taj-E Featuring Bee2 “Jalebi”
I’m not entirely sure what Taj-E and Bee2 were thinking when they came up with this one. Is it a dance floor hit? Possibly, for the fact of it’s sheer silliness (in a fun and make-you-wanna-yell-out-Jalebi sort of way).
The brothers (who are known to market their work very well) pushed this video hard over twitter, and even though they may or may not have succeeded in accomplishing what they wanted, the video is once again of high quality. Which is something they have been known to bring to the table consistently.
Days of Bhangra Producers Lives: Where Tigerstyle Learn a Valuable Lesson
Seems like most Bhangra Producers are on twitter these days. With tweets ranging from album updates, what they’re doing to pass time, or how good they are at cooking, twitter is a little telescope into their day to day life. However every now and then, they may also paint an even more interesting picture of what is running through their mind. This feature helps you chew on what is happening in Bhangra Producers lives.

Dipps Bhamrah “Tu Nachdi”
Dipps Bhamrah drops his second video from his upcoming album “Project: BHANGRA”. It’s a catchy number which gives off a Dilshad Akhtar type of vibe.

Pavitar Singh Pasla & Tru-Skool “Beant Satwant Da Badla”
Tru-Skool has done it again.
Now you may play the video and read along to the translation and then think something doesn’t add up. How does a Dharmik song sound so catchy?
Well first off, that is the essence of any Tru-Skool beat. The man just keeps it gangster.
But thinking further, I believe this is a good strategy to employ to educate the youths about Sikh history, as well as our present day trials and tribulations.
You may say the music has a hip-hop beat, and what’s up with that? But wasn’t hip-hop used to relay messages of an unjust world for African Americans?
Is this our version of “Fight the Power”?
All proceeds from the song will go to Khalsa Aid to help support the Shaheed families.
