Old School Sunday – PBN “Vekh Jandi Dolhi”
This week’s Old School Sunday is one of my favourite Bhangarage tracks. I also feel as if it is a continuation of the Bally Jagpal/Amar Arshi/Shazia Manzoor track I posted two weeks ago.
Released on Panjabi By Nature’s debut album “Second 2 None,” I feel it was the only song worth listening to. However, since Second 2 None, PBN has redeemed himself with some quality tracks.
Featuring the vocals of Amar Arshi, and Singh MC – I’ll give this guy some credit, because he wasn’t half bad either – the album was released during the year 2000.
Are we taking for granted that PBN has been around for almost 10 years?
Old School Sunday – Rishi Rich “Muhnde(Shava Shava)”
I’m telling you now to turn the volume way up, because this track is classic Summer music.
I can go back and listen to this song wherever, whenever. In fact I’ll drop anything to sing along to it. There is just something about it that lifts the spirits, and puts a bounce in ya step.
Back in 2002, waking up early to go to the office in the Summer, it was this song that specifically had me roll down my windows and wake me up while I was stuck in traffic on the 403.
Released on the “Pure Garage: Chapter 2″ CD, the album contained a few wicked Hindi tracks too (yeah I just said that.) (“Tere Dar Par Sanam” and “Dheere Dheere Se.”) I don’t listen to Hindi songs, but the music had me converted for a short period.
Of course Don Dee’s rhymes had a bit to do with the listenability as well. The Punjabi vocals on this song are provided by Surinder Kumar.
