Old School Sunday: Bally Jagpal “Mur Vatneyia”
From 2001, Untruly Yours may have featured only 4 tracks, and probably ticked a few people off with having to pay £7 for the album back then (if you really purchased it.) But I still loved the tracks.
Ranjha was nice, and Aja Sohneya (remix) was, well you know what it was, but this Ranjit Mani, UK Garage infused track still was the one that got the highest amount of replays from me.
B21 “One-2-B” Album Tracklist
I refuse to get overly excited about this because…well because, I’m tired of being teased.
For those that want to know, this is what we can expect from the Jagpal brothers.
In May.
Maybe.
Hopefully.
Fingers crossed.

(Ah what the heck! It’s going to be awesome! Like 1999 all over again! Woot! Woot!)
Old School Sunday – Bally Jagpal “Viah Karvake Ve”
I remember exactly were I first heard this song. It was 1999, and we were at a house party in Brampton (of all places.) Wait, let me rephrase that, it was outside the party. The music wasn’t bumping inside the house, as it was more of a dinner party for like a 100 people.
So us youngster’s were chilling outside, you know, up to our usual no good. When one of the elder youngsters who had a Jeep at the time pulled up to the front of the house with this song blaring. We quickly went up to him, and made him replay it.
I remember the excitement he showed while starting the song again. The song started as it does with a chilled out beat, Jimmy all along saying “wait for it…wait for it…”
“Wait for what?”
“The dhol to kick in”
Bally Jagpal feat. Amar Arshi/Shazia Manzoor “Viah Karvake Ve”
Sure enough, as Amar Arshi enters the song at the 1:03 mark, the dhol started and did it. That’s all it took. I was entranced. I got the album the following day, and continued to rinse what we now know as one of the biggest selling albums in UK Bhangra, “Dark and Dangerous.”
The song is originally an Amarjot and Chamkila track, and it was redone by one of the hottest combos back then consisting of Amar Arshi and Shazia Manzoor. (Thanks for the correction Nimrit.)Sudesh Kumari – who I still rate higher than Miss Pooja (sorry fellas.)
The entire album – comprised of six tracks – is very impressive, as it contained an array of beats and samples. This was also the first time we heard “Aaja Sohneya” by Shazia Manzoor, before we got “Simran’s Mix” on “Untruly Yours.”
If you don’t have this album in your collection. I suggest you get it, because you’re missing out badly.

As a special bonus, I came across the lyrics to the track online.

ADH “Akh Mastani/Sassi” Video
ADH releases his second video from his upcoming “Taubah Taubah” album.
The first track features production by Hunterz, and if you cannot tell by the chorus or the music, the second features the production skills of Bally Jagpal.
OK I must admit, I like the video concept, because it translates over the two tracks. I also see myself listening to the Bally Jagpal produced track again. (I’m seriously starved for some B21 style music.)
The album is set to release on October 9, 2009.
What’s with all the solid choruses but meh songs?
ADH “Taubah Taubah” Video
ADH is back, and if you never knew he was gone, then I can’t blame you.
He’s releasing his fourth album titled “Taubah Taubah,” and this is the first of five videos he is releasing in Autumn on the MovieBox label.
The title track features the help of US based rapper Gop Virk. I’m not feeling the vocals or the tune, it’s too light for me.
The album will however, feature production from the Jagpal brothers (B21) as well as Aman Hayer, and features Kuldeep Manak, Hunterz and Miss Pooja, so I won’t completely write off the album just yet.
