Swami were in Mississauga, Ontario earlier this month at the Mosaic Fest, and I managed to make it down and snap up some videos of some of their new and older material.
See what you missed/are in store for with their upcoming material.

En Karma are ready to release their debut album, in fact it’s going to release tomorrow (July 30.)
This is a big album release in more ways than one.
First off, the sixteen track album is a Canadian product. Secondly, the album is a product of a band. Not a DJ, not a Producer with a number of collaborations, but one group of guys in it together from the get go.
We heard a tasty sample, when they released “Tohar Naal Jeena.”
And now we get to see what H-Dhami could do with En Karma.
I’ve never been a fan of H-Dhami. But his vocals with Inder Kooner sound pretty good.
Having broken records with the smash hit single ‘Johal Boliyan’; Vip Records are proud to present the debut album by folk vocalist Kulvinder Singh Johal titled ‘Mundeh Panjabi’.
The 10 track album has been produced by Kaos Productions & also features three singles by Tru Skool; the producer behind ‘Johal Boliyan’ which spent an incredible seven weeks at the top of the BBC Asian Network digital download chart.
With ‘Johal Boliyan’ already a firm fixture for dance floors across the UK, ‘Mundeh Panjabi’ promises to deliver further anthems, only adding to the already long list of hit songs by Kulvinder Singh Johal.
The single ‘Sun Baliyeh’ was given its exclusive first play on the distinguished Nihal show on BBC Radio 1, with ‘Mundeh Panjabi’ being premiered by Bobby Friction on the BBC Asian Network.
The album will be supported by another high quality video medley for the tracks ‘Mundeh Panjabi’ and ‘Sun Baliyeh’ which will be airing shortly.
With Johal Boliyan still riding high in the charts, ‘Mundeh Punjabi’ is set to become the essential sound track for the summer.
The 10 track album is out in all Asian music shops and iTunes on the 8th of July 2010.

The Saqi Roadshow boys link up with Meet Malkit and Miss Pooja for this track, off their forthcoming album “Bhangra Duets.”

Swami were out last night in London, UK performing what seems like their only UK gig this year (I’m sure that’ll change quickly.)
Performing at One Love at The Social, the band unveiled eight new songs on their upcoming all English album.
For those people that were unlucky to be a wee bit far away from Little Portland Street, the entire gig was streamed online.
Take a look at the five part performance below.

New PMC Alert! New PMC Alert! New PMC Alert! New PMC Alert!
The man just knows how to make a bumpin track.

No details on when the song will release, you know “Indian Timing” and all.
The first Bhangra release from an Australian is an impressive chilled out track. In fact, it’s the first track that’s got me in the mood for the upcoming summer bhangra releases.
Jaskurn Gosal, who produced Bakshi Billa’s “Nachne Da Mazza” last year is set to release his debut solo effort.
His first track “Haan Baliye,” with vocals provided by A.S. Amar, elicits a summer vibe (even though it’s winter down under.)
Scope the sample.
Purchase the track on iTunes.
I don’t know what’s wrong with me today, but this is incredible. (Not in a good way)
No comment on the Christian Audigier connection. Not many people come to mind that still rock Ed Hardy on this side of the pond. Oh wait, this guy does.
I recently wrote how much I enjoyed the very short but sweet clip of Preet Mani’s track “Akh Mastani” on the DJ KSR “Forever” Mixtape.
Well Brampton representative, Preet just dropped his latest video entitled “Yaari” off his upcoming mixtape “Mani in the Making.”
I’m definitely feeling the chillness of the track, and the Sitar in the hook is a splendid touch of production.
Canada continues to impress.

P.S. Here’s to hoping that DJ KSR’s version of “Akh Mastani” makes it onto the mixtape.
The Sound Pipe Records are the kings of marketing. Despite some questionable signings, the duo that is BEE2 and Taj-E, always find a way to promote themselves and their products in a well thought out and entertaining manner.
Take for example their next release of “Nach Bhabiye.”
Will it be the wedding anthem of the summer? We’ll see.
(I hate how the industry predominantly revolves around the summer. Sigh)
