Free Download – DJ KSR “Forever” Mixtape
I know I’ve been away from the blog a bit, but I think this will more than make up for it. BIG time!
Released last month, DJ KSR’s Forever Mixtape is by far the best bhangra mixtape I have heard. It covers the key genres, and the mixing creativity is sublime. Anyone that comes up with mixing LMFAO’s “Shots” with DJ Vix’ “Ah Chak Bottal” followed by Kaka’s “Daru Peeke” is Aces in my books.
Artists covered range from the following:
Imran Khan, Diljit, Sarbjit Cheema, Malkit, JK, Heera, Dark MC, Kaka, Miss Pooja, House of Pain, Drake, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Jay-Z and some Bollywood tunes I’m not that aware of for obvious reasons. (Trust me this list is the tip of the iceberg.)

My favourite part (about 11 minutes in) is this Preet Mani track “Akh Mastani.” The dude is from the Toronto area, and I really could use some more info on him as well.

Free Download – ZeeKay “The Mixtape”
ZeeKay has been doing his thing for a few years now. He’s released a few singles, but has yet to release his debut album due to delays. Fear not though, as he has put together a mixtape of the stuff he has released thus far.
Nine tracks make up the mixtape, and if I may say so, it’s a must download for the two versions of “My Moment.” (The Twin Beats Remix being the dopest.)

I think it’s safe to say, this is the first good free download for Bhangra lovers in 2010 no?
Aman Sandhu was born and raised in Chandigarh, India, and has recently hooked up with a Toronto-based producer (who is also making his debut with this track) named sOe.

Free Download – Indy Sagu “INDYNATION” Remixes
Indy Sagu has worked on an album of remixes titled “INDYNATION.” So far he has released two of the remixes; Fabolous’ 2004 track “Breathe” and Missy Elliott’s 2001 track “One Minute Man.”
Of the two, Fabo’s track has the better sounding music, but I’ll leave you guys to decide.
As you can see from the album art, Indy will continue to release more bootleg remixes, and I’ll post them up as he does.

Free Download – New Year Mega Mix
What a great way to start the New Year.
I got this mix from Rav-E (a resident DJ and Dhol player at San Francisco’s Non Stop Bhangra) this morning. I gave it a quick listen, broke out of my chair busting a move, and figured I should post this up asap. This mix has just the right BPM, and I’m sure, as it has me still doing it, will have you toe tapping and bouncing in your chairs in no time.
Rav-E says he is all about spreading Bhangra to new ears and breaking cultural barriers, and from what I’ve heard, the Bay Area Bhangra party’s are real fun. Free Download – RKZ “Kuke Kuke”
I’m a bit late to the party on this one.
After hooking up with Bharat Goel on “Genda Phool,” RKZ has collaborated with him again, and presents us with another free download.
The track plays along the same lines as “Genda Phool,” with a sample taken from the movie Life Partner. Yet again, it works.
