Nindy Kaur & RDb feat. Blitzkrieg “Akhian”
I honestly have forgotten when RDB were last relevant to the Bhangra scene.
What I do remember, are three brothers who took some beats from the west, and made them into some of the biggest UK Bhangra tracks ever.
What happened to those guys? I miss them. I really do.
Now, we’re treated (not really) to a lot of Bollywood jams, and songs sung by someone that sounds like my mums Bibi Ji.
Nepotism in action? Yuppers.
I felt the only reason I wanted to post this video was to get the above off my chest. No other reason.
Of course, RDB could quite possibly surprise the heck out of me, and come out with a real dance floor banger.
“Worldwide” is out soon.
When an artist/producer has to disable the comments section on their video’s page, that says a lot about the confidence, the ability of the group to take criticism.
I said this on twitter and will say it here too…. Currently RDB has no place in bhangra, if they want to keep making low quality, easy production based music- they can stick to Bollywood which is able to allow such music to pass since the sheer size of it can keep them afloat. (And let’s face it- bollywood doesn’t know bhangra, but boy do they want in, so RDB is great for them in that respect).
I, on the other hand, am still waiting for the Bhangra Messiah to arrive… Soon, sometime soon… I have faith….
