Singh is Kinng
Now before you start accusing me of losing my marbles…I know this is a Bollywood movie poster. But I actually thought it was Snoop Dogg that lost his marbles after this but apparently, he’s just getting started.
Well, there was a lot of chatter regarding the soundtrack of this movie, and most of it was true. It’s heavy on Punjabi, Bhangra, Snoop Dogg, and UK Artists.
“Wait, did he just say Snoop Dogg?”
“I did.”
The lead title track is done by RDB, featuring Snoop Dogg and Akshay Kumar.
As if Snoop on the track wasn’t enough, Akshay decides to lace the track with some of his own rhymes.
**I’ve had to insert voice tags into the song because some of you may be crafty tech wizzes (spl?) The spot where the last tag was inserted was pure coincidence, but I like to think that bhangraw.com is real cool like Snoop.
It’s a pretty chill track, definitely something you can bop your head to. But nothing you can get down to.
The rest of the soundtrack – which features the likes of Hard Kaur, Daler Mehndi, Mika, Labh Janjua and mixes by Tigerstyle – is laid back as well. With the exception of “Jee Karda” where you may want to go “Pon Di River Pon Di Bank,” I don’t see people wanting to jump up on the dance floor if the songs were playing at a party.
I read in a recent interview that Snoop was gearing up to introduce the people of India a whole new dance (Drop the Naan Like it’s Hot anybody?)
When I get my hands on the video, you know it will be up here.
This concludes the Bollywood segment, but I still found it necessary to put Katrina Kaif’s picture here
